M3U player for Android TV and web
Plain playlists, how they differ from Xtream logins, and where guide data comes from.
An M3U playlist is a plain-text list of stream addresses that your IPTV provider gives you as a URL. MIRA Player plays M3U playlists on Android TV, Google TV and the web: paste the URL once in the web app at miraplayer.tv/app and your channels appear on the TV. MIRA Player supplies no playlists; you bring your own.

What an M3U playlist is
M3U has no formal specification; it is a de facto standard. An M3U file is plain text listing the locations of media, and the extended form starts with an #EXTM3U header line followed by #EXTINF lines carrying each entry's title (Wikipedia: M3U, checked 2026-10-18). For IPTV, the provider hosts that file at a URL, so there is no account login or panel API, just the list.
M3U vs Xtream Codes
An Xtream Codes source is a login (server URL, username, password) to your provider's panel API, which returns account details and catalog lists; an M3U source is only the playlist URL. MIRA Player supports both as separate connect options (miraplayer.tv/llms.txt, checked 2026-10-18). If your provider gives you both, either works; the Xtream Codes page explains the login.
Guide data (EPG)
IPTV guide data usually comes as an XMLTV file. The XMLTV format has channel records and programme records and mixes all channels into one unified listing (wiki.xmltv.org, checked 2026-10-18). MIRA Player shows a live TV guide where your provider supplies guide data; whether yours does is unknown until you connect it.
You connect sources in the web app at miraplayer.tv/app; your provider credentials stay between you and your provider. MIRA Player is a player, not a content service: it hosts, bundles and supplies no channels, movies or streams. Playback depends on your sources, device, codec support and network.
